College. It’s over. Several words to the wise:

Like our man Seth, H and I are not fans of the unadvantageous lessons of public education. But, taking over the world does require a college degree. Nine months ago, H and I received our diplomas from Michigan State University, ending our HTBAATOTW, Inc. training, “if you will.”

Since then, we’ve reminisced, visited the old stomping grounds a time or two, and admired how the times have changed since our college days.

Gigs up, we’re big kids now. That means: more money (supposedly), no homework and an improvement in our social life. World domination requires a lot of networking. So, we’ve had to really come up with an effective system to pursue extrovert activities.

This may sound weird to you students who’ve managed to embrace the college life and are thinking to yourselves, “But I’ve had such a swell time at my house, apartment, backyard, porch, chair, sink, outhouse, barn, Cancun, parties and bar nights. I never want it to end.”

Well good for you for successfully living the college life kidos. Because yes, once you get out of there, everything will change. The good news is, if you want my opinion, which you obviously do or you wouldn’t be reading this, the best years of your life are after you put that tassel to the other side.

Synopsis as to why:

Here in Chicago, we believe in well priced housing, attractive people and festivals.

Post college in the city, we have food at our house parties. Sometimes Brazilian meat, sometimes Italian delectables, and even the occasional grilled corn and Ice Cream Pie.

When we go the bar, we opt for board games and fancy drinks imported from London like Pims Cup. When the munchies take effect, we choose $1.50 tacos made with fresh cilantro to snack on instead of fried shells with refriend beans out of a tube.

Festivals require cute attire and fancy hats with street dancing. That black shirt you felt you could get away with every night because the color was not what was catching anyone’s eye, so last year.

Dinner’s are full night events that range from strategic all you can eat sushi, BYOB Argentinian steak houses, bathrooms covered in Pezz dispensers and outdoor seating in Boystown with view of a black and white movie.

On the mornings after, instead of laying around complaining, we go out for fabulous brunches that include menu items which ensure our adult-hood such as “grown up pop-tart,” jump on a boat and enjoy an architecture tour, or take a stroll down beautiful Lake Michigan to ease our day-after-drinking-pains (hangovers are so college).

It hasn’t always been fun and games of coarse. There’s a reason we couldn’t start this blog until H moved to the city. But once we settled into life like real graduates, we got friends, shiny new apartments and bodacious new roommates…that’s when life after college became ‘The Life.’

If it sounds like I am bragging, well, I am. College was a grand ol’ time, but like the old guy used to sing, “The best is yet to come.” Naturally, it always includes a good cup of coffee.

FYI…I’m in the market for a new desk,
